Egypt is located in North Africa, and it is home to many iconic pyramid relics. However, scientists have discovered several terrifying findings in Egypt, including an underground chamber in Giza’s pyramid.
The pyramids of Egypt were built for religious reasons. They were said to be chosen by the gods to serve as their mediators. They were supposed to aid the King’s solar center in heaven in enjoying the gods, especially Ra, the sun god.
The Giza pyramid is 140 meters high and 230 meters long. It contains three chambers: the King’s chamber, the Queen’s chamber, and an underground chamber.
Scientists analyzed the Giza pyramid’s internal structure and found a large void with a diameter of 30 to 40 meters. However, they couldn’t touch the vast void, so whatever it previously held must have been mysterious.
During the construction of an apartment building in the famous Mediterranean port, experts discovered a 16-foot-deep black granite tomb. Dr. Mustaf’s general secretary quickly scuttled it at the Supreme Council of Antiquities.
Investigators discovered that the liquid in the tomb was not mummy juice or red mercury but sewage water. The skeletons were partially dissolved, and the tomb had been breached, allowing sewage water to seep in.
Archaeologists discovered 16 human hands buried in four pits in an ancient palace in Egypt’s ancient city of Avaris. The hands are all right-hand and date back 3,600 years to when the Hyksos ruled over part of Egypt.
Sixteen hands may be the first concrete evidence of an ancient Egyptian practice. A soldier would swap an enemy’s cut-off right hand for money. It is not known whether they belonged to Egyptians or those the Hyksos were battling in the Levant.
Scientists are unsure of the origins of the Hyksos‘ practice of executing prisoners. Still, a 5,000-year-old artifact depicting a pharaoh poised to stomp on a man’s head during the unification of ancient Egypt suggests this practice may have started in ancient Egypt.
Hawass, the archaeological mission’s leader, said the recent discoveries would help “rewrite” ancient Egypt’s history. The team also discovered 52 burial tunnels, more than 50 wooden coffins, and a 13-foot-long, three-foot-wide papyrus inside a burial pit.
